The ministry of the Community of Celebration is a ministry of presence. For the UK house this is chiefly expressed through involvement in a local church. Ordained ministry, choir, music group, child protection, study groups - these are all ways in which members ‘on detached service’ live out their calling locally.

The Community of Celebration is not a ‘para-church’ body with its own specialised ministry, but a recognised religious order within the Anglican Church. However local church involvement is also important because it helps to earth concepts of corporate life in the concrete realities of parish life. This is a contribution that members ‘on detached service’ are in a good position to make.

Also important is networking. This can range from seeking to connect with the wider church through events and conferences to building links with individuals who have a relationship to church or community.
